A word about Lionel Sebbane

Lionel Sebbane, I'm 45 years old, I'll be 46 during the Arcachon festival!

I was born in Paris and I live in Clichy near Parisian suburbs.

I did scientific studies, sup math, special math then ENSAE (National School of Statistics and Economic Administration). It was in the cafeteria of this high school that I discovered bridge and as it immediately fascinated me, I quickly gave up the time-consuming careers of trader or actuary which were offered to me to become a modest statistician at INSEE which gives me more time to devote to my favorite hobby.

I progressed fairly quickly in the standings. I joined the French Junior Team in 1998 (opposite Fabrice Willard) and the French Open Team in 2004 (opposite Laurent Thuoulez).

My prize list includes 4 French Cups, 2005 and 2007 in front of Jérôme Rombaut, 2012 with Pierre Schmidt and 2015 with Michel Duguet.

In DN in pairs, I obtained 4 podiums with 4 different partners, the bronze medal with Jérôme Rombaut and Frédéric Volcker, the silver medal with Michel Duguet and finally the gold medal with my current partner Paul Séguineau.

In team DN, only one title of Champion of France in 2016 in front of Cédric Lorenzini.

In 2015, I started to ensure the captaincy of the France Open Team with which I managed to obtain a title of European Champion in 2016 in Budapest and a title of Vice-World Champion in 2017 in Lyon. Two very different experiences from that of a bridge player but also very interesting.

Outside of bridge, I am passionate about cinema and games in general. I am recognized in the street not for my bridge performances but for my time playing game shows. I already have about twenty to my credit, the most recent being "Numbers and letters" where you could see me last January.
